Hyoung-Kyu Song is an accomplished applied scientist with a strong background in artificial intelligence and multimodal technologies. Currently serving as an Applied Scientist at Captions since June 2024, Hyoung-Kyu previously held the position of Lead for Edge Foundation Models within the CTO Division at Nota AI from September 2018 to May 2024, where notable contributions included developing an event detector from CCTV scenes and researching efficient text-to-image models. Prior experience includes serving as Chief AI Scientist at MINDsLab Inc., leading an AI research team focused on speech synthesis and facial video generation, and as an AI Scientist where Hyoung-Kyu developed a multilingual talking face system that gained significant recognition. Hyoung-Kyu also worked as a Software Engineer at Mindlogic Inc., focusing on text-to-speech models. An alumnus of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Hyoung-Kyu holds an undergraduate degree in Bio & Brain Engineering.
