Tobias Schwalm

Tobias Schwalm is an accomplished software architect and product owner with extensive experience in the automotive software industry. Currently serving as Lead Software Architect and Product Owner at CARIAD since June 2022, Tobias leads an internal architecture team, manages external development partnerships, oversees budget responsibilities, and contributes to the development of automated parking functions and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Prior to this role, Tobias was a Senior Software Architect at Volkswagen AG, where key responsibilities included leading automated parking software transformation and architectural redesign across vehicle platforms. Tobias's professional journey also includes a tenure at Bosch SoftTec GmbH, focusing on architecture for Electronic Horizon SDK and contributing to map-based predictive assistance systems. Educational qualifications encompass a Master of Science in Computer Science from Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen and two Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science from Dundalk Institute of Technology and Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen.
