Anke Kausch

Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University

Anke Kausch serves as the Director of Acquisitions/Provenance at VKS Art Inc. since April 2013 while also fulfilling the role of Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, teaching courses on Chinese and Asian art and conducting guest lectures on Nazi-era provenance research and restitution issues. Kausch is a consultant for provenance and restitution issues for several major institutions, including the National Gallery of Canada and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and has authored guidelines for Holocaust-era provenance research in Canadian art museums set to run until June 2025. Previous experience includes roles as a Research Fellow at the National Gallery of Canada, Sessional Lecturer at Carleton University, and as a China Consultant and Tour Leader for Studiosus Reisen in Germany. Kausch holds a Master of Arts in Chinese Studies and Art History from the University of Hamburg.
