Bjarki Hallgrimsson is an experienced academic and industry professional, currently serving as an Associate Professor and Acting Director of the School of Industrial Design at Carleton University since 2003. In addition to academic roles, Bjarki has been the Director of the School of Industrial Design since July 2017. Prior to this, Bjarki was the Principal at Hallgrimsson Product Development from September 1996 to July 2003, leading a multidisciplinary firm focused on product development and innovation. Earlier in his career, Bjarki worked as a Senior Industrial Designer at DW Product Development and as a Senior Engineer at LUNAR, contributing to projects in various sectors. Bjarki holds a Master of Science in Product Design from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
