Cathy Malcolm Edwards serves as the Lead for Accessibility Strategy at Carleton University since September 2019, where Cathy oversees the implementation of the Coordinated Accessibility Strategy, focusing on enhancing societal justice for individuals with disabilities. In addition, Cathy is a Master of Design candidate and works in the READ Initiative, uniting diverse stakeholders to advance research and projects on accessibility, disability, design, and education. Previously, Cathy has served as a Strategic Designer at The MakeWell Performance Group Inc. and held various research and facilitation roles at Carleton University between 2005 and 2019, including establishing the first social innovation centre at the university. Additional experience includes a role as a Visiting Design Practitioner at the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies and managing research partnerships at Nortel Networks.
