Chris Memering

Chris Memering serves as the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at CarolinaEast Medical Center, a role held since November 2007, focusing on comprehensive patient education for diabetes self-management. Memering has demonstrated leadership in various professional organizations, including serving as Treasurer for the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists from January 2019 to December 2022 and holding multiple volunteer positions on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Diabetes Educators from 2012 to 2018, including North Carolina CB Chair and Immediate Past Chair. Additional volunteer experience includes a Treasurer role with NCIAFN in 2010. Before specializing in diabetes care, Memering worked as a Patent Examiner at the US Patent & Trademark Office from 1998 to 2000. Academic credentials include a BSN in Nursing and a BSc in Chemistry, both obtained from the University of Virginia.
