Joan Kern, Ph. D., currently serves as the Associate Provost and Associate Professor of Education at Cedar Crest College since July 2006, where responsibilities include developing and teaching courses in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, securing field experience placements, and advising students. Prior to this role, Joan Kern worked at the Diocese of Allentown as an Assistant Professor of Education and Academic Advisor, as well as a classroom teacher and school librarian from 1994 to 2006. Joan Kern holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Alvernia University and both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
