Cindy Murphy-Tofig

Cindy Murphy-Tofig is an experienced editorial professional with a strong track record in various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Editorial at the Center for American Progress since February 2024, Cindy previously held positions at The Pew Charitable Trusts from November 2017 to February 2024, ascending from Senior Associate to Principal Associate in the Editorial department. Cindy's prior experience includes editorial roles at Hilton, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, The Music Center at Strathmore, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and The Hartford Courant. Cindy began the editorial journey as a Copy Editor Intern at Newsday. Educated at Binghamton University with a Bachelor's degree in English literature and rhetoric, Cindy has cultivated expertise in editing diverse content for both print and digital audiences, focusing on clarity, engagement, and adherence to organizational style guidelines.
