Michael Schenk

Michael Schenk is a Senior Research Fellow at CERN, with a strong background in particle accelerator research and machine learning. Previously, Michael served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at EPFL, contributing to the PACMAN project, focusing on AI and ML solutions to optimize particle accelerator operations. Responsibilities included the development of machine learning models for the Large Hadron Collider and supervision of student research. Michael's earlier experience at CERN encompassed roles as a Doctoral Student, Technical Student, and Summer Student, where significant contributions were made to particle beam stability studies and Python-based multiparticle tracking code development. Michael's academic credentials include a PhD in Accelerator Physics from EPFL and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering Physics and Physics, respectively, from the University of Bern.
