Bob Brown is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in software development and engineering leadership. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative since August 2021, Bob directs all software development in the CZI Science Technology group. Previous roles include Vice President of Engineering at Kaplan, where Bob developed educational simulation products in the medical sector, and Vice President of Engineering at i-Human Patients, overseeing product design and development. Bob also held leadership positions at Education.com as CTO and Vice President of Engineering, and at various other companies including Visible Path, Model N, Blue Martini Software, SGI, and RIACS/NASA, contributing to significant projects and team growth throughout a distinguished career. Bob holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University and a B.A. in Mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan University.
