Leah Duran

Leah Duran currently serves as the Acting Vice President of Communications, Science at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, where leadership encompasses communication strategies and execution within a $6.2 billion science portfolio focused on biomedicine and climate. Leah has also held various communications roles within the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network, managing the launch of multiple Biohubs and overseeing communication for nonprofit biomedical research. Prior experience includes Senior Manager of Development Communications at Conservation International, Public Affairs Specialist for the Department of the Interior, and roles in the National Park Service, with a strong foundation in writing and public engagement from an early career as a writer for Arizona Highways. Educational credentials include a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Arizona State University.
