Charlotte Lab School
Meg Scott currently serves as the Head of Primary School at Charlotte Lab School, a position held since July 2020, after serving as the Assistant Head of Lower School from October 2015 to July 2020. Previously, Meg held the role of Instructional Coach at KIPP Charlotte, where responsibilities included coaching and developing literacy teachers and managing literacy initiatives. As Principal at University Meadows Elementary with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, leadership encompassed a team of over 100 staff to support nearly 900 K-5 students. Experience also includes being a Resident Principal with New Leaders for New Schools, managing a team to foster academic growth and community partnerships. Early career roles involved significant contributions to Teach for America, where leadership roles focused on coaching teachers and achieving academic gains, and as a 2nd Grade Teacher at East Feliciana Schools, where Meg led students to notable growth in reading and math. Education includes a Bachelor of Arts in History with a focus on Peace, War, and Defense from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
