Carl Standley

Carl Standley possesses extensive experience in geology, focusing on both traditional and emerging energy sectors. Currently serving as a Geological Advisor for the New Energy Ventures Team at Chesapeake Energy, Carl specializes in Carbon Capture and Sequestration and geothermal initiatives. Previous roles at Chesapeake Energy include Senior Staff Geologist in BD Evaluations and International Exploration, where evaluations spanned significant basins such as the Permian, Marcellus, and Haynesville. Early in the career, Carl contributed to various geological projects in the Rockies and Midland Basins, starting from the Associate Geologist position in the Barnett Shale Group to the District Geologist role focused on the Niobrara Horizontal play. Academic credentials include a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Geology/Earth Science from Brigham Young University, where Carl also served as a Teaching Assistant and provided multimedia support in classroom settings.
