Tyler Swinea is a staff geologist at Chesapeake Energy with extensive experience in geologic exploration and resource development. Since June 2012, Tyler has focused on development planning in the South Texas business unit, assessing the commercial viability of Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary sands in the Gulf Coast area, and creating tools for scale formation evaluation. Previous roles include geologist positions at Chesapeake, where Tyler led studies on Pennsylvanian tight sand reservoirs in the Anadarko Basin, utilized multivariate statistical analysis, and managed geosteering of over 40 wells. Prior experience includes an internship at Chaparral Energy, contributing to test well planning and production analysis, as well as work as a teaching assistant and master's candidate at Oklahoma State University, where Tyler conducted research on thermal controls in aquifer systems. Tyler holds an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Oklahoma, an M.S. in geology from Oklahoma State University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma.
