Henry Fairbanks has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Henry began their career as a Cricket Administrator at Lord's Cricket Ground - MCC in 1998. Henry then moved on to work as a General Manager at Fifteen05 from 2000 to 2001. Henry then worked as an Area Sales Manager at Adnams PLC from 2002 to 2005. In 2006, they joined Heineken UK as a National Account Manager, where they stayed until 2011. Henry then transitioned to the Metropolitan Pub Company, where they served as a Senior Operations Manager from 2011 to 2016. Henry subsequently took up roles at Bermondsey Pub Company Ltd, first as the Openings and Pipeline Director from 2016 to 2018, and then as the Operations Director from 2018 to 2020. Currently, Henry serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Chestnut starting from November 2020.

The Chestnut was established in May 2012 by former banker and corporate financier Philip Turner, who had the vision to create a family of hostelries, under the Chestnut umbrella, which would defy pigeon-holing into the standard classifications of pub, hotel or restaurant, but be simply synonymous with a great experience. The group’s continued development strategy is to identify and purchase freehold sites in the East Anglian region, which as a result of under capital investment, are not delivering their full potential.
