Matt Cook

Matt Cook is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in regulatory permitting, environmental compliance, and health and safety within the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as the Regulatory Permitting and Compliance Team Lead for Chevron's Mid-Continent Business Unit since June 2014, Matt leads a team focused on obtaining drilling permits and ensuring compliance with Texas regulations, while enhancing team efficiency and culture. Previous roles include managing air permitting activities and establishing LDAR specialist networks to standardize operations across multiple refineries. Matt also has a background in health and safety, having implemented Behavior Based Safety programs and corporate training initiatives. Matt holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health Industrial Hygiene from Utah State University, where additional experience as an Information Technology Consultant and Health Environment and Safety Intern was gained. Early career experience includes working as a Wildland Firefighter for the Bureau of Land Management.
