Spencer Smith has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the financial industry. Spencer started their career at Riggs Investment Management Corporation in 1997 as an Assistant Director and Equity Analyst. In 2000, they briefly worked as an Equity Analyst at Emerging Markets Management, L.L.C. Spencer then joined Fiduciary Trust Company in 2002, where they served as a Managing Director and Global Equity Portfolio Manager until 2010. Since 2010, they have been working at Chevy Chase Trust, initially as the Director of Research and Global Equity Portfolio Manager, and currently as the Head of Institutional Investments and Global Equity Portfolio Manager.
Spencer Smith's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon, which they obtained from 1989 to 1993. Spencer then pursued and completed a Fulbright Scholar program in Economics from 1993 to 1995. Following this, Spencer attended The George Washington University from 1995 to 1998, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in European Studies. Lastly, Spencer enrolled at the Yale School of Management from 1999 to 2001 and successfully obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance.
