Cara Bautista-Rao

Cara Bautista-Rao is an experienced environmental specialist with a focus on energy and sustainability. Currently serving as a Senior Environmental Specialist for the City and County of San Francisco since January 2022, Cara leads two regional BayREN commercial energy efficiency programs. Previously, as Sustainability Coordinator & Housing Analyst for the City of Walnut Creek, responsibilities included developing and implementing the city's Climate Action Plan and managing energy efficiency initiatives. Experience also encompasses roles as Sustainability Coordinator for San Mateo County, conducting outreach and program management, and fulfilling internships and research positions at various organizations, including the US EPA and UC Berkeley. Cara holds a Master's degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, both from the University of California, Berkeley.
