Noreen Kassam has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Noreen started their career in 1997 as an Auditor at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. From there, they moved on to work as a Financial Analyst at Axa Pacific Insurance Company from 2000 to 2002, and then as a Financial Analyst at Metro Vancouver (formerly GVRD) from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, they joined the City of Surrey as a Manager of Budgets and Reporting, where they worked until 2014. Since then, they have been with the City of Burnaby, where they held various roles including Assistant Director of Financial Planning and Capital Equity from 2014 to 2017, Director of Finance from 2017 to 2021, and currently serves as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer & Chief Financial Officer.
Noreen Kassam obtained a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) between 1993 and 1996. Noreen majored in Accounting during their time at UNBC. Additionally, Noreen Kassam earned the CPA, CGA designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), though the specific dates of completion are undisclosed.
