Since January 2006, Mike has served as the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Merced, overseeing the Department of Parks and Recreation, managing special projects, assisting with policy and budget development, and leading marketing efforts for the city. Previously, Mike held the position of Public Information Officer, focusing on public relations and marketing. Mike's journalism career spans over two decades, with roles including reporter and various editorial positions at publications such as the Modesto Bee, Merced Sun-Star, South Lake Tahoe Tribune, and Chico Enterprise Record. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
