Denise Taylor

Denise Taylor has extensive experience in communications and community engagement, currently serving as the Director of Communications and Community Engagement for the City of Somerville since April 2011, where responsibilities include managing traditional and social media, emergency communications, and civic engagement initiatives. Previously, Denise held roles as a Social Media Manager and Community Engagement Specialist, overseeing social media strategy and the City's ResiStat Program. Denise's background also includes editing for Patch.com and The Boston Globe, where contributions encompassed articles, multimedia content, and food criticism. An accomplished freelance journalist and editor, Denise has worked on educational material and served as a consultant in various communication strategies. Denise holds a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
