Travis Counts is Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for Civitas Resources, Inc. Prior to this role, Mr. Counts was a partner at the law firm Bracewell LLP. From 2013 to 2021, Mr. Counts was General Counsel of Concho Resources Inc., most recently serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, until its sale to ConocoPhillips. Prior to 2013, Mr. Counts served as Vice President, Legal and Deputy General Counsel of Halcon Resources Corp. and as Associate General Counsel-Corporate of Petrohawk Energy Corp. Previously Mr. Counts practiced law as a member of the Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm L.L.C. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Tulane University School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude and a member of the Order of the Coif.
