Coatsink
Simon James has a diverse work experience starting from 2007. Simon began their career as a Team Leader at Home Fundraising Ltd from January 2007 to June 2008. From June 2008 to August 2014, they worked as an Assistant Store Manager at Fat Face. In November 2014, they started freelancing as a Sound Designer, Audio Editor, and Composer, where they worked on various projects including sound design for Button Up! game, corporate music composition for VisualPunch, and boom operating for Meerkat Films. In August 2015, they joined Coatsink as a Sound Designer, where they contributed to the development of Shu, a 2D platformer for PS4, and Esper 2, a VR game focused on telekinesis. Simon eventually became the Head of Audio at Coatsink in January 2018. Additionally, they had a brief role as a Stand-in Boom Op for the movie Zombie Women Of Satan in 2010.
Simon James attended Newcastle College from 2006 to 2008, where they earned a Foundation Degree in Music Production & Technology.

Coatsink is a passionate and talented indie team working on games for PC, VR, console and mobile. Since Tom Beardsmore and Paul Crabb established Coatsink in 2009-10, the company has grown into a recognised face in the independent developer community, growing VR industry, and applications market. Currently, They’re working on some original projectsfor release on PC, Oculus Rift/Samsung Gear VR, and console while also doing work-for-hire for a couple of international studios.
