James McGill is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and team management. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Code Climate since April 2021, James previously held the same position at Button, Inc., where the focus was on creating a skilled engineering team to develop scalable e-commerce technology. James's career at Google spanned from November 2009 to July 2017, during which time significant contributions were made as a Staff Software Engineer and Manager, particularly in the areas of machine learning, video conferencing improvements, and the Google Maps Developer Platform. Educationally, James holds a Bachelor of Business Management in Entrepreneurship and Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems, both earned at The University of Queensland.
