Laurie Soenen

Laurie Soenen, MA, is the Executive Director of Advancement Services and Annual Giving at the College of Charleston, a role held since June 2009. Laurie's responsibilities include managing the Parent Advisory Council, overseeing a portfolio of annual leadership and planned giving prospects, and collaborating with various departments to enhance annual giving initiatives. Previously, Laurie served as Director of Development for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Central & Western North Carolina, where fundraising efforts spanned 51 counties. Laurie's earlier roles include Director of Annual Giving at Queens University of Charlotte, marked by significant increases in donor contributions and online donations, and Development Associate at Charlotte Advocates for Education, where successful fundraising campaigns were implemented. Laurie holds an MA in Organizational Communication from Queens University and a BA in Psychology from Winthrop University.
