Leigh Schaefers has extensive work experience in the accounting and auditing field. Leigh began their career as a Staff Auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP in 2000 and later worked as an Audit Senior and Audit Manager at Ernst & Young LLP from 2002 to 2008. Leigh then joined Elliott Davis LLC as an Audit Senior Manager from 2008 to 2012, followed by a role as an Audit Senior Manager at Grant Thornton LLP from 2012 to 2014. Currently, Leigh is employed at Communities Foundation of Texas, where they have held various positions including Special Assets Manager from 2014 to 2016, Director of Accounting from 2016 to 2020, Controller from 2021, and currently serves as the Chief Accounting Officer.
Leigh Schaefers obtained a Bachelor/Masters degree in Accounting and Business Honors from The University of Texas at Austin, completing their education from 1995 to 2000.
