Vi R. Smalley

Vi R. Smalley, Esq. is Conning’s General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and a Managing Director, responsible for the Conning Group’s legal affairs worldwide and serves as a member on several Conning committees, including the firm’s Operating Committee. Prior to joining Conning in 2006, Ms. Smalley was with Citigroup Insurance Investments and previously practiced with Bingham McCutchen LLP (now Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP) in its Hartford and London offices. Ms. Smalley earned her A.B., cum laude, from Smith College, and earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is admitted to practice before the Connecticut Bar, the New York Bar and the Federal District Court for the District of Connecticut. Ms. Smalley is currently a Director on the Boards of United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut and Our Piece of the Pie.
