Ara Hovsepyan

Ara Hovsepyan serves as the Head of Africa & Armenia at ContourGlobal since October 2021 and previously held the position of General Manager at ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade cjsc from August 2013 to March 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Chief Executive Officer of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program from January 2012 to May 2013, where significant infrastructure development was implemented, and Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) / MCA-Armenia Program from August 2006 to December 2011, overseeing substantial investments in Armenia’s irrigation and agricultural sectors. Earlier roles include heading the DFID section at the UK Department for International Development from August 2000 to August 2006 and serving as a diplomat at the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1995 to 2000. Academic credentials include a Post-graduate diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations from Exeter College, Oxford University, a Master of Arts in Political Science & International Relations from the American University of Armenia, and a Bachelor's Degree in History and the English language from the State Institute of Foreign Languages.
