Daniel Mitchell

Chief Financial Officer at Cook Inlet Region, Inc.

Daniel Mitchell oversees CIRI’s Finance and Accounting and Business Development departments. He is responsible for CIRI’s financial management, accounting and internal control systems and budget and financial reporting matters. He also directs efforts to make new investments, conducts and leads due diligence for new acquisitions, and heads up the company’s tax planning and compliance programs.

Mitchell joined CIRI in 2018 as its chief financial officer. Prior to joining CIRI, Mitchell was a managing director at KPMG, LLP’s Anchorage office, where he spent 22 years providing accounting and auditing services to Alaska-based companies. He has experience in a broad range of industries including airlines, construction, financial services, government contracting, oil and gas, state pension and investment funds, and utilities.

Mitchell serves on the board of Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Launch Alaska and United Way of Anchorage, is a member of the limited partnership advisory committee of Builders VC and is an advisory committee member for the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Alaska Native Organization Management Program and the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ School of Management’s Accounting Advisory Board. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage and is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of Alaska.
