Yunfeng Gu

Yunfeng Gu is a seasoned professional in the field of materials chemistry with extensive experience in optical fiber innovation and membrane technology. Currently serving as a Senior Research Associate at Corning Incorporated since February 2006, Yunfeng leads projects focused on optical fiber advancements and contributes to the development of glass and ceramic surface functionalities. Prior roles include Research Scientist and Senior Research Scientist at Corning, where significant work was done on ceramic membranes, nanomaterials, and surface chemistry. Previous to Corning, Yunfeng worked at Virginia Tech as a Research Associate and at Kyushu University as a Postdoctoral Researcher, specializing in gas separation ceramic membranes. Yunfeng holds a PhD in Materials Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China, a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, and a Bachelor's degree in Powder Metallurgy from Hefei University of Technology.
