Richard Falkenrath

Richard Falkenrath is a prominent expert in national security and global affairs, currently serving as a Senior Fellow at the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs since January 2025. Falkenrath has been a member of the Council on Foreign Relations since June 2000, holding the title of Senior Fellow for National Security, and serves as a member of The Trilateral Commission and the Aspen Strategy Group. Falkenrath previously held significant roles, including Head of Client Service and Head of Geopolitics at Bridgewater Associates from June 2014 to May 2024, and Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Security Officer, and Senior Manager at Bloomberg LP from August 2010 to June 2014. Notably, Falkenrath was Deputy Commissioner for Counterterrorism at the New York City Police Department from June 2006 to June 2010. Falkenrath's academic credentials include a PhD in War Studies from King's College London and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Occidental College.
