Debi Welch, SPHR, SHRM - SCP, has accumulated extensive work experience over the past few decades. Debi served as the VP of Human Resources at Covenant Health from September 2015 until the present. Prior to that, they held various roles at Knoxville Area Urban League, KNS Media Group and Scripps Corporate Remote, Knoxville News Sentinel/KNS Media Group, and The E.W. Scripps Company. Debi'spositions in these companies encompassed directorial and partnership roles in human resources. Debi also worked at Elo Touch Systems and Raychem/Elo Touch Systems as a training manager and HR generalist from 1983 to 1997. Debi'sbroad range of experiences in these diverse organizations have contributed to their expertise in the field.
Debi Welch, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, completed their education at various institutions. Debi obtained a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development and Industrial Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a focus on Industrial Education. Debi also earned a separate Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma in Business from Oak Ridge High School. Debi Welch has also obtained several certifications, including the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from SHRM and the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
