Paul Baines

Paul Baines is an experienced professional with a diverse background in academia and local government. Since December 2018, Paul has served as the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group and Councillor for Anstey Ward at Charnwood Borough Council, where roles also included Cabinet Lead Member for Investment and Mayor of Charnwood. In academia, Paul is a Visiting Professor at both Aston University and Cranfield School of Management, and holds multiple positions at the University of Leicester, including Professor of Political Marketing. Paul is the Director of Baines Associates Limited, a consultancy specializing in marketing strategy and research, and has authored academic handbooks for Oxford University Press and SAGE Publications. Additionally, Paul was a Non Executive Director at the Business Continuity Institute from May 2017 to May 2023 and served as a partner at Can & Co from January 2021 to June 2023. Paul holds a PhD in Political Marketing and multiple degrees in related fields from various institutions.
