Kevin Capps

Kevin Capps is an expert in intellectual property with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as the Executive Director and Head of Intellectual Property at Crinetics Pharmaceuticals since 2021, Capps has held significant roles including Senior Patent Counsel at Neurocrine Biosciences and Senior Patent Attorney at AstraZeneca. Prior positions also include Senior Patent Counsel at Gilead Sciences and associate roles at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, and Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP. Capps began a career in intellectual property as a Patent Examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office. Capps earned a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law, a PhD in Chemistry from Scripps Research, and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland.
