Kendall Hirai is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within nonprofit organizations. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Crystal Stairs, Inc. since April 2016, Kendall previously held multiple prominent positions at the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President of Branch Operations. Prior to this, Kendall was the Executive Director at the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center and at the Downey Branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles. The career began at the YMCA of Honolulu, where Kendall also served as Executive Director for six years. Kendall holds a BBA/MBA in International Business from the University of Hawai‘i - Shidler College of Business, completed between 1985 and 2000.

Helping parents find child care, training child care providers on how to nurture and educate young children, helping parents and providers bridge the affordability gap with child care subsidies, and teaching children how to use a computer are just part of what we do. We help families succeed, children learn, and child care providers become competent, confident caregivers.
