Michael Coronado

Michael Coronado is an accomplished professional in the field of biology with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as Associate Director, Discovery Biology at Cytokinetics since December 2020, Michael has held various leadership and research roles focused on discovery biology. Prior to this, Michael was an Instructor at UC Berkeley, teaching courses on the physiology of the cardiac and respiratory systems as well as exercise physiology. Michael's academic journey includes positions at prestigious institutions such as Stanford University School of Medicine, where Michael investigated mitochondrial dynamics in cardiac physiology, and Johns Hopkins University, where Michael contributed as a teaching assistant. Michael's educational background includes a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiac physiology from Stanford, a PhD in Toxicology from Johns Hopkins, and a BS in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside.
