Jacques Botes

Jacques Botes is a seasoned professional in cyber security and information management, currently serving as the Corporate Security Operations Manager at Datacom since November 2021. In this role, Jacques defines security requirements aligned with ISO 27K standards and Zero Trust principles while enhancing automation for third-party security compliance. Previously, Jacques held positions at Fujitsu as the NZ Information Security Manager and Services Team Lead, overseeing internal security compliance for government and commercial clients, and as a Senior Information Security Analyst. Jacques also managed information security and infrastructure delivery at Baycorp, ensuring compliance and performance across multiple countries. Early in his career, Jacques developed expertise as a Senior Systems Engineer at Designertech, and as a Team Leader at both First Technology and BCX, where Jacques managed infrastructure for De Beers Marine. Jacques holds a Bachelor of Theology from Laidlaw College and a National Diploma in Information Technology from Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
