Cormac Byrne

Cormac Byrne began their work experience in 2009 as the Deputy Sports Editor at Independent.ie, where they worked until 2019. In 2019, they became a Freelance journalist and Content Editor for a period of five months. In the same year, they joined Dataminr and held various roles, including Senior Associate, Domain Expert, Subject Matter Expert Manager, and currently serves as the Manager and Editor.

Cormac Byrne obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Politics, and Law from Dublin City University, completing their studies from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications in cybersecurity and professional development from institutions like LinkedIn and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. These certifications were obtained between 2021 and 2023, covering topics such as phishing attacks, cybersecurity risk, cybersecurity threats, and cybersecurity terminology. Cormac has also acquired certifications in leadership, strategic thinking, communication, public speaking, time management, and career development.
