Sophie Brown is a seasoned professional in the film industry with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as a Documentary Programme Advisor at the British Film Institute since July 2014 and as a Documentary Submissions Viewer at Sundance Institute since August 2018, Sophie also contributes to Sight & Sound Magazine and Dazed & Confused as a writer. As a curator, Sophie has worked with Bijou Electric Empire Forever and Duke's at Komedia Cinema, where responsibilities include film season curation. Additionally, Sophie has been involved with the Duke of York's Cinema as a Front of House/Festival and Special Events Liaison/Q&A Moderator and serves as a Programme Writer for the Cine-City Brighton Film Festival. Academic credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing - Nonfiction from The New School and advanced studies in Film Aesthetics from the University of Oxford, complemented by a BA in English and American Literature from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Dazed is an independent British fashion, culture and arts magazine with a reputation for groundbreaking photography, fashion and editorial. It was founded by Jefferson Hack and photographer Rankin as Dazed & Confused in 1991. Contributors include photographers Harley Weir, Ryan McGinley, Walter Pfeiffer, Collier Schorr and Willy Vanderperre.
