Nico Tillie

Nico Tillie is a seasoned landscape architect and urbanism researcher currently affiliated with the Technische Universiteit Delft's Urban EcoLogy Design Lab since September 2020, focusing on urban ecosystem-based planning and design. Tillie's extensive experience includes serving as a Senior Fellow at the Global Cities Institute at the University of Toronto and a Lecturer/Researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft, concentrating on City Data and Smart Cities. Additionally, Tillie operates as a freelance garden writer and designer and has held several key positions, including Chairman of Stichting vrienden van Rotstuin Ber Slangen and former Vice President of the World Council on City Data. Past roles include planner and advisor for sustainable development in Rotterdam and contributions to the creation of the first international Standard on City Data. Nico Tillie's education spans multiple prestigious institutions, culminating in a PhD focused on sustainable urbanism from Delft University of Technology.
