Denis De Cleen is an experienced marine engineer with a career at DEME Group spanning from August 2006 to the present. Initially serving as a 2nd engineer for three years, Denis advanced to the role of 1st engineer, taking on responsibilities such as overseeing engine room operations, managing mechanical equipment, and ensuring electrical power on board various vessels. Notably, Denis has also held the position of 1st engineer for the commissioning of HLV Orion. Academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Naval/Marine Engineering from Maritime Academy Antwerp, completed in 2006, and a Technical High School degree in Limited Coastal Navigation from KTA Zwijndrecht - Cenflumarin, obtained in 2002.
