David Hanf is an accomplished finance executive and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer of DePoly since January 2024, a startup focused on plastic recycling. David co-founded the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups (German Startup Association) in September 2012 and has served as a board member and later an advisory board member. As an investor through David Hanf Ventures GmbH since January 2018, David has been active in angel investing. In addition, David holds the position of President and Board Member of the European Startup Network since October 2023, advocating for startups across the EU. Previously, David was the CFO and Managing Director of Thermondo GmbH from March 2017 to February 2023 and served as CFO and COO of smava GmbH from September 2009 to March 2017. Early career experience includes roles as an Investment Manager at MEGU Capital Ltd. and a Financial Analyst at BASF. David holds two Master of Science degrees in Management from ESB Business School and NEOMA Business School, obtained in 2007.
