Tim McMillin

Tim McMillin, DMA, CFRE, serves as the Artistic Director and Conductor for the Des Moines Vocal Arts Ensemble since June 2008 and holds the position of Co-Director and Faculty-in-Residence for the M.M. in Choral Conducting program at Simpson College since August 2004. Additionally, Tim McMillin has been the Director of Advancement for the Des Moines Metro Opera since June 2019. Previous roles include Lead Choral Conductor, Department Chair, and Teacher at Roseville Area Schools from August 2000 to June 2004, and Choral Director and Teacher at St. Charles Jr/Sr High School from August 1998 to June 2000. Tim McMillin's early career involved work as ASM, house staff, and performer with Des Moines Metro Opera, Inc. from 1994 to 1998. Educational achievements include a DMA in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University, an MA in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas, and a BM in Music Education from Simpson College.
