Steve Tran, VP of Strategy & Business Development at Nuance Communications, is responsible for leading business development and mergers and acquisitions initiatives for Nuance’s On-Demand business unit. Previously, Steve was Co-Founder of BeVocal, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand call automation and customer care solutions for telecom carriers. Over his eight-year tenure at BeVocal, Steve was responsible for establishing and leading the Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Client Solutions organizations and was a key driver in closing and managing over $150M in contracts with carriers such as AT&T Mobility, MetroPCS, Vonage, BellSouth, and Qwest. Steve also assisted in closing BeVocal’s acquisition by Nuance Communications in April 2007 for approximately $200M in total consideration. Prior to BeVocal, Steve has served in a variety of positions, including business development manager at Cadence Design Systems, an investment banker at Petrie Parkman & Co. which was acquired by Merrill Lynch, and systems engineer at Compaq Computer. Steve received his MBA at Dartmouth College and his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University.
