The mission of the Digital Research Center of Sfax  is to conduct research and development activities in the field of information and communication technologies and promote innovation and technology transfer in this field by promoting  research results, resources, and expertises. It is also expected to develop international cooperation in science and communication information technology.

The research center aims to be at the forefront of technology by conducting applied research focused on innovation. Researches will focus on ICT for  online services (e-tourism, e-health, e-tourism , e-government, etc.),  intelligent energy management (smart-grid), as well as other strategic application areas for the south of Tunisia, such as monitoring the environment (control pollution). 

 In its open policy on its scientific, economic and institutional, the center will promote scientific research activities made in collaboration with ICT private partners. It also provides inviting companies to set up R&D joint lab in the center and implement an ecosystem focused on innovation for the exploitation of research results.
