Urgent Care Veterinary Technician Or Experienced Assistant

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician or Experience Veterinary Assistant (Level 3) to join our Urgent Care team.

The Urgent Care Technician will be responsible for assisting the Urgent Care DVM in seeing low acuity cases on an appointment and fast track basis. These cases are both self-screened and undergo limited screening by client service staff. This position assists in processing a diverse caseload of urgent cases, employs critical thinking in order to integrate with and assist the emergency room flow and maintains a positive and respectful attitude. A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, as is an appreciation of the human-animal bond.

Wage: Weekend differential pay for applicable shifts.

• $26-$32 hourly for unlicensed technicians/Veterinary Assistant Level 3
• $28-$36 hourly for Certified Veterinary Technicians (or other license type that is transferrable to Oregon)
• $36-$40 hourly for Veterinary Technician Specialists

Schedule: Urgent Care technicians work 5/2 rotating schedules with 10 hours shifts. This means you have a consistent schedule that makes planning the rest of your life easy, and every other week you get 5 days off in a row! • 2+ years working in the veterinary field as a technician or experienced assistant.
• Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
• This position is open to unlicensed technicians with sufficient experience and licensed technicians. To qualify for the Certified Veterinary Technician pay range, you must be a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in the state of Oregon OR currently be another type of credentialed Veterinary Technician (e.g. RVT, LVT) elsewhere with the ability to transfer license to Oregon.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
