Rita Barton is an experienced professional with a diverse background in management and development across various sectors. Currently serving as Development Manager at Dream Foundation since June 2023, Rita also holds the position of Office Manager at Barton Construction Inc, a role maintained since December 2014. Previous experience includes Development Operations Manager at Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and School Director at Santa Barbara Dance Arts, overseeing educational programs and operations. With a rich history in product management at companies such as Rag Race, Inc and Big Dog Holdings, Rita has demonstrated expertise in B2B relationships and product development. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from UC Santa Barbara and an Associate of Arts in Fashion Merchandising from FIDM.

Dream Foundation is the only national organization that serves end-of-life Dreams for terminally-ill adults and their families, including veterans. Dreams come in many forms, but all of them provide inspiration, comfort and closure. We arrange family reunions, special trips that provide a much-needed respite or meetings with personal heroes. Veterans often want to reconnect with aspects of their previous military lives or visit monuments and memorials that have a special significance for them. We also deliver bouquets and gifts to people in need of comfort and cheer in Santa Barbara County through our Flower Empower program. Everything that we do is made possible by a dedicated community of individual supporters, volunteers, health care organizations, hospices and corporate sponsors who help in many ways, from donating funds to running fundraisers, arranging workplace giving, assembling and delivering bouquets or offering their professional photography skills. Each has played a crucial role in the 33,000 Dreams fulfilled over the past twenty-seven years.
