Umut Genç has a diverse work experience in the technology and automotive industries. Umut'smost recent role was as the CEO of Eatron Technologies, where they led the company's mission to develop software-defined vehicles for OEMs globally. Prior to this, Umut worked as the Managing Director at AVL Turkey, overseeing research and development projects in powertrain systems and technologies. Umut also held the position of Electronics Manager at AVL's UK office, where they managed teams working on hybrid-electric powertrain projects. Before joining AVL, Umut worked as a Technical Specialist at IAV GmbH, focusing on automotive control systems. Umut started their career as a Junior Systems Engineer at TÜBİTAK SAGE. Overall, Umut has built a strong background in engineering and leadership roles within the technology and automotive sectors.
Umut Genç holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Advanced Robust / H_inf Control Systems from the University of Cambridge, which they obtained between 1998 and 2002. Umut also earned a Master's Degree in Advanced Control Systems from The University of Manchester in 1998. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University from 1992 to 1997. Umut Genç's education journey started at Kabataş Erkek Lisesi, where they pursued their high school education with a focus on Maths Division from 1989 to 1992.
