Matthew Harding is a Visiting Professor of Economics at UCLA since January 2025 and a Professor of Economics and Statistics at UC Irvine, where Matthew has also served as the Director of the Deep Data Lab since July 2016. In parallel, Matthew is the CEO of EcoMetricx, a company that utilizes advanced AI to analyze large-scale databases and optimize customer engagement and revenue strategies through economic and behavioral science insights. Previously, Matthew held positions as an Associate Professor of Economics and Statistics, and the Director of the Deep Data Lab. Matthew's academic journey includes serving as an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Economics at Duke University, where partnerships in behavioral economics and data analytics were fostered, and as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Stanford University. Matthew's educational credentials include a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MPhil from the University of Oxford.
