Group Human Resources Director at ED&F Man

David Shakespeare has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. David is currently serving as the Group Human Resources Director at ED&F Man since February 2022. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2021, they were the Group People Director at Berry Bros. & Rudd, where they played a critical role in developing and implementing a people strategy to drive transformational change and create a high-performance culture.

From 2014 to 2018, they held the position of VP, International HR at CNA Hardy, a multinational insurer. Before that, they worked at CNA Insurance from 2007 to 2014, where they held various roles including HR Director, HR Development Director for Europe, and HR Manager for the UK & Ireland. David was responsible for aligning HR practices with the business growth strategy, implementing workforce resourcing models, reducing attrition rates, and implementing talent strategies.

Earlier in their career, David worked at NatWest Group as an HR Business Partner from 2000 to 2004, and at RBS as a Training & Development Manager from 1998 to 2000. David also has experience in the finance industry, having worked at Lombard as an Account Executive and Senior Account Executive in the Asset Finance division.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated their expertise in driving organizational change, implementing HR strategies, and aligning HR practices with business goals.

David Shakespeare completed their Msc in International HR Management at Cranfield School of Management from 2005 to 2007.
